Forum Kajian Pembangunan Roadshow “Empowering Regions: Infrastructure for Eastern Indonesia’s Development” & KONEKSI Talkshow

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Tanjungpura (FEB UNTAN), held the Forum Kajian Pembangunan (FKP) Roadshow on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the Prof. Syamsudin Djahmat Room, FEB UNTAN. The forum carried the theme “Empowering Regions: Infrastructure for Eastern Indonesia’s Development”, aiming to strengthen academic discourse on the strategic role of infrastructure in promoting regional development, particularly in Eastern Indonesia.

The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FEB UNTAN, Dr. Ajuumhur, S.E., M.Si., representing the Dean of FEB UNTAN. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of collaboration among academics, researchers, and stakeholders in producing evidence-based policy recommendations to support inclusive and sustainable development. The welcoming address was followed by remarks from the Head of the Australian National University (ANU) Indonesia Project, Prof. Budi P. Resosudarmo, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D, who highlighted the crucial role of research and international collaboration in strengthening regional development capacity.

The forum continued with a panel discussion featuring speakers from various institutions. Dr. Nurul Bariyah, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D (FEB Universitas Tanjungpura) presented her research on the impacts of road infrastructure development on economic growth and income distribution in West Kalimantan. This was followed by Dr. Husneni Mukhtar, S.Si., M.T (Telkom University), who discussed innovative fall risk mitigation for the elderly from a public health perspective. The panel concluded with a presentation by Prof. Budi P. Resosudarmo (Australian National University), who examined whether the expansion of air transportation could stimulate innovation and economic growth in Eastern Indonesia.

The panel discussion was highly interactive, with active participation from lecturers, researchers, and students. The exchange of ideas and policy-relevant insights is expected to contribute to future discussions on regional development strategies.

Following the panel session, the event proceeded with the KONEKSI Talkshow entitled “Becoming a High-Quality Researcher”, which was designed for junior lecturers. The talkshow featured Prof. Budi P. Resosudarmo and Noviana N. Aisyah (Senior Partnerships Coordinator of KONEKSI), who shared their experiences and insights on enhancing research quality and strengthening academic collaboration networks.

Through the implementation of the Forum Kajian Pembangunan Roadshow, FEB UNTAN reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the role of higher education institutions as centers of knowledge development and strategic partners in supporting equitable and sustainable regional development.
