As part of its continuous commitment to enhancing academic quality and institutional excellence, the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Universitas Tanjungpura conducted an academic benchmarking visit to the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on 8 July 2026.
The benchmarking visit provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and discussions on strategic issues in higher education management. The discussion focused on several key areas, including the implementation of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, covering the formulation of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), as well as the mechanisms for periodic curriculum evaluation and revision. The delegation also explored the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the management of international community engagement (PkM) programs, the implementation of student scientific publication requirements as part of graduation criteria for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, and various strategies for strengthening the internationalization of departments and study programs.
Through this benchmarking activity, the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Universitas Tanjungpura gained valuable insights and best practices that can support the continuous improvement of academic governance, curriculum development, international collaboration, and educational quality. The visit also strengthened institutional networking and opened opportunities for future collaboration between both departments.
